Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win inspects preparations for Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition

    Patron of the Leading Committee for Organizing the Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary of Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by union ministers, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, deputy ministers and officials inspected the preparations for successfully organizing the Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition this evening.

First, the Vice-Senior General and party inspected the preparations for the event and rehearsals for the opening ceremony at the open air theater and Myanmar International Convention Centre-II of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and the Vice-Senior General coordinated and attended to the needs after hearing the reports of officials.

The Vice-Senior General cordially greeted the traditional orchestra of national races.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and party proceeded to Nay Pyi Taw Transit Centre and inspected the preparations for mess halls, hostels, kitchens, restaurants and consumer product shops for convenient catering and accommodation of veteran artistes who will judge the competitions, contestants from states and regions, managers and parents and guardians, rehearsals of contestants, tasks of respective sub-committees and formation of health and medical protection teams and attended to the needs before cordially greeting the veteran artistes and contestants.

The event will feature music competitions (classical music, contemporary music, patriotic music), dance competitions (traditional musical instruments and traditional dances of national races, Kabyalut dance, Chin national and rural dances and puppet dance) and instrument playing competitions (piano, guitar, Don min and mandolin) will be held at the MICC-II while writing and groups competitions will take place at the cultural treasure hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture.

Musical instrument playing competitions (drums and violin) and traditional story telling competitions will take place at the training theatre of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture while Saing orchestra and individuals’competitions will be held at the national library. Music competitions (harps, oboe, flute, xylophone) will be held at the open air theatre of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee on a grand scale from 14 to 20 October.

More than 2,500 contestants will participate in the competition.

The event will be organized with the four objectives of inspiring patriotism, conservation of national characteristics, identifying, conservation and promotion of traditional cultural characteristics of national races, propagation of conservation of cultural legacy and national spirit among new generation youths and encouraging them to cooperate in the national culture sector for development and stability.
