126 more illegal foreign migrants to Myanmar detained

The government has cracked down on those who are involved in online  gambling and scams and criminal activities in ShweKokko and KK Park Myawady in Kayin State after transiting some neighbouring countries including Thailand and illegally entering Myanmar through border routes and 126 more  foreigners were detained today.

Combined teams of relevant departments are collecting their personal information and documents within a day in order to repatriate them to relevant countries as soon as possible.

Between 30 January and 22 February, 2025, a total of 2,111 illegal foreign migrants were uncovered and detained and 673 of them have been repatriated to relevant countries through Thailand in accordance with the law, rules and regulations. The remaining 1,438 illegal migrants are ready for repatriation and they have been detained properly.

The 2,111 illegal foreign migrants include citizens of China, Indonesia, Vietnam,  Malaysia, Pakistan, India, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Thailand, Rwanda, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Cambodia and China (Taipei) and majority of them are from China.
