Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects rescue, relief and resettlement undertakings at earthquake-hit areas in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, gives means for work facilitation

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected rescue, relief and resettlement undertakings at earthquake-hit areas in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this morning and gave necessary directives.
The Senior General and party inspected the work of repairing earthquake-hit roads and bridges in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area for temporary use in a motorcade.
They then inspected the damage caused to Ottarathiri General Hospital by the earthquake and heard a report on the extent of damage presented by the medical superintendent and officials. In response, the Senior General coordinated with officials on better means to rescue the persons trapped inside the rubbles of the building and to remove the debris.
During the inspection, the Senior General cordially greeted and thanked the rescue team from Yunnan Province, China, that was conducting rescue and relief operations jointly with rescue and relief staff of Myanmar.
The Yunnan Province rescue team arrived in Myanmar within 18 hours after the earthquake rattled the country and it is the first team to arrive in Myanmar. The 37-member team, equipped with 112 sets of emergency relief gear, arrived in Yangon International Airport at 7 am on 29 March.
It then went to Nay Pyi Taw and is providing assistance and taking part in rescue operations.
In cooperation with the Myanmar team, the Yunnan team was able to rescue a woman trapped inside the Ottarathiri General Hospital for over 36 hours at about 4 am today and saved her life.
It then continued its humanitarian operations.
The Senior General and party inspected the rescue and relief undertakings and clearing of debris at the collapsed community hall for religious activities in the compound of Khemathiwun Monastery in Pyinmana, and looked into the requirements.
The Senior General also gave encouragement to the rescue and relief teams. The Senior General and party then paid respects to Sayadaw Abhidhaja Bhaddanta Tejaniya, age 92, vasa 72, Patron of the monastery, asked after his health and donated offertories.
They inspected the work of clearing debris from collapsed buildings and provided means to facilitate the work of clearing rubbles and debris, and gave directives on prioritizing the restoration of road ransport and looked into other requirements.
They then cordially greeted and gave words of encouragement to the members of Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force and fire brigades, who were taking part in rescue and relief operations.
Government employees responsible for disaster response, Tatmadaw members, MPF members, fire brigades, volunteers and local people are participating in relief and rescue operations with might and main in all the earthquake-hit areas.
